In the process of rebuilding for the new season. PNASTY and others are back.
Our undefeated (11-0) TF2 team squared off against the 3rd seed Worth It (9-2) in the Season 4 STA 8v8 finals. It was STA's first time using a best of 3 halves format in the finals where each team got to choose which map they felt they were strongest on to play as 1 of the halves with the tiebreaker map chosen by STA.
We chose Badlands
Worth it chose Gold Rush
STA chose Granary as the tie break
In the end we took the 1st half on Badlands 4-0. Worth it put up a good showing on offense on Gold Rush posting a really solid time which we came close to beating but in the end fell just a bit short. In overtime we had another shutout half finishing off Worth it 4-0. All in all it was a well played match.
The match was also cast by the folks at www.tgbf.tv, currently they are moving their website and archived feeds are not available, hopefully it is put up after they get things sorted out for anyone who didn't get to watch it!
Team Veneration adds DoD:S to the list of games we actively compete in. We picked up kttnz, a CAL-M DoD:S team and are excited about having them on-board. Check our forums and welcome the new members!
Congratulations to the TF2 team who upset the heavily favored Devastation in the STA 8v8 Season 3 finals. The match was played on Dustbowl and overtime was needed to decide the contest! Season 4 starts in a week or two, we are all looking forward to it.
In other news, CEVO Season 2 started and our TF2 division was selected to be one of 16 teams chosen to play in the CEVO Professional division. We played our first pre-season match last Thursday against Start the Reactor and pulled off a hard fought 5-3 victory. We are looking forward to a fun but very challenging season in CEVO-P where we will definitely need to raise our game in order to compete with the best.
The CoD4 team has come a long way since being formed back in January. With about 7 months of game time and practice we have made the playoffs! A lot of hard work has gone into our success and I want to thank the CoD4 team for putting in the time to get where we are. buzz, Hedgehog, phear, s0dap0p and someNOOB have worked hard to improve their individual games but even moreso their teamwork. Hedgehog has gotten wicked with the scope (no suprise there). Everyone else has continued to master assaults and smgs. The entire team has worked on learning every angle of every map, where to prefire and where to drop set nades. While it is not official I am being told that we are being moved up to CAL-IM for Season 3 due to our success in Season 2.
Keep up the good work guys!
Always more work to be done, but our roster's page has come together quite nicely. Truly amazing after all these years how many have come and gone, and how many still come by and have stuck around.
CHECK OUT THAT MATCHES PAGE!!! A combined record of 242-62. WOW! Team Veneration has been victorious in about 80% of their matches. Congrats again to our TF2 division for their contributions, their 100th match, and more importantly their astounding record of 79-21. Urban Terror has done it's job with an overall record around 150-30. A new era is dawning, however; with our up and coming CoD4 division. Stay tuned!
A job well done to all. A special thanks goes out to our sponsors #sowned and #octaneservers. Thank you Zone.net, we are looking forward to working with you in the future. Devoted managers, captains, and support/tech people; you are overworked, underpaid
, and always there to carry and lead us. Finally, yes, even you soldiers out there get some lovin`! Without you guys "grunting" it out in the trenches we would have nobody to boss around
I kid I kid. Thank you to all!
Team Veneration is only BEGINNING to scrape the surface of our potential. It's a very exciting time to think about where we are headed!
In the words of a great friend and all-time member (BORNJA)...
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
Team Veneration TF2 division played our 100th match last night in the STA-Highlander league recording another victory and title defense vs our good friends from # (Pound). Our record now stands at an impressive 79-21.
This is a huge accomplishment for us and we look forward to many more matches in the weeks ahead!
The TF2 division keeps rolling along on our very packed schedule.
After a very strong second season in STA 8v8 we were knocked out early in the playoffs by eventual Gold Division winners Rev6. Season 3 starts this week and we are looking to continue our performance level to achieve a 3rd straight Gold Division playoff spot.
Our CAL 8v8 season is at an end as well as we were defeated 2 games to 0 by 2 Years 1 Beta in the Semi Finals of the first seasons playoffs. No start date has been set for the second season at this time.
Last night in our TGL 6v6 1st round playoff match vs Irremediabilis we swept all the rounds to come out on top 4-0 and advance to next weeks quarter finals.
To cap off a busy playoff packed schedule the Veneration TF2 Highlander team managed to exact some revenge and capture the title from Lost Continents. After having lost our previous 2 title shot matches vs LC we were eager for another rematch and a chance to offer LC some competition who had yet to lose in highlander play. We had a fantastic game on Gravel Pit where we managed to hold them in 3 of the 4 rounds while LC was not able to stop us on any of our offensive runs. I am sure they are looking forward to a rematch in a couple of weeks when we will have to defend our title against them.
This week the Veneration TF2 team played in and recorded a win in its 80th competitive match bringing our overall record in all competitions to 63-17.
CAL 8v8's first regular season has come to a close where we finished 4th overall (6-2) and qualified for the playoffs which begin this Sunday vs Rebels Gaming on CP Granary. We also played rG in the last week of the season where we won in what was a very good matchup on CP Well.
STA 8v8 second regular season has also come to a close where we finished 1st overall (9-1) improving on our 3rd place finish from last year. We enter the first round of the playoffs vs REV6 who were last seasons champions in what should be the best matchup of the first round where I am almost hesitant to say that we are the favorite.
So we have two brothers that are part of Team Veneration and reside in the Dominican Republic. One night in the middle of a scrim I hear Nox! yell about a cockroach and the next thing I know both Nox! and T-MarTineZ drop offline - completely. No Ventrilo, no game, no irc, no xfire - nothing.
So when they come back T-MarTenZ tells us a flying cockroach flew through the window at Nox! and Nox! trying to run away from it trips over the power cables for their router and knocks them both offline.

Flying Cockroach 1 - Dominican Brothers 0
ps. I heard T-MarTenZ had to kill it for Nox!
